Ok, I saw this thread, backstreet boys, WTF? I expected something really lame and/or shitty, but I found something quite the opposite. Piano sounds really nice, what did you use? Vox are very well performed, great intonation and vibrato, mabe just a little too much verb for my tastes. Cool cover!

i know what you mean, wtf the Backstreet Boys?
thanks for the compliment.
the piano is a Synthogy Ivory sampled Steinway; i think it sounds really realistic and so i use it often.
sometimes i go overboard on the reverb....
thanks for listening!

I've played this a few times since my last post and love it more every time (I'm a BSB fan though). Regardless, I like what you've done.

I envy your singing talent thumbsup

Wow, I love this song! This is absolutely going to find a place on my mp3 player!!

I love the piano, I love the quality of everything.. but what I like best is your very interesting vocal sound and your amazing singing skills!

Could you please tell me what mic and preamp you used?

Thanks for sharing this song with us!

thank you so much for the compliments! they mean a lot to me!
the signal chain for the vocal was a Red Mic Type B into a Great River NV preamp.

i always thought if i did an acoustic version of this song that it would turn out well; it has interesting lyrics that you might not notice when listening to the original, and it really has a cool dynamic to it that i tried to convey here.

i appreciate the kind words!

sincerely,
~j.d.
