Please any comments, advices for that song ...

well... i'm a young technician, i've created my own studio in France .
We constructed all the studio, the walls ... acoustic treatment... electricity ... ( 6 months of work) we did the best we could with the money we had !

now there are 2 Rooms to record ( 20 square meter and 50 square meter ), and one mix area ( 25 M²). Based on dmxr100 sony, rme, powercore, universal audio 610 , neumann v476, telefunken, tl audion, avalon U5, KRK 6000 monitoring, cheap microphones ( oktava, se , classic dynamics )...

here is one song of a project i'm working on ... can you give us your advices ?
i will send the bounces to mastering in 1 week , so i have the time to make some modifications if you feel something ... please understand that i'm not working on a neve , with distressors and u87 for the talkback ... but i know that i'm able to make so mistakes too ! so tell me please !

what affraid me a little bit is that the conversion wav \ mp3 i just did broke the hi spectrum .... but with my computer monitoring, that was hard to describe how far it was compared to the afternoon on the krk... It's the first time i send a bounce on internet ,understand that the mix is not finished... you will see, the song begin at 00.15... before, it 's just preparation, and 1... 2 ..3 .....4

Ok! I really liked that song!!! Here are some things you can try out to compare the mixes and see what suits you more.
1) Kickdrum needs equalizing more, boost upper frequencies to stand out more
2) Snare could also use a little eq high
3) Give hihat, crash and every cymbal a short reverb (group them if necessary)
4) Vocals eq a little the mids and highs
5) Also brass, trumbets and stuff usually give a great feeling when used with a little reverb

Try these out if you have the time. The mix is really nice but I would like to listen to it with the thoughts I told you. I think it will be clearer and will have more "feeling". Try it out.
Also if you can compare this song with a song from GOGOL BORDELLO. They are an amazing band in this exact style.

Good sound quality. The thing that bothers me is the "distortion" on the vocal. Doesn't need to be there at all IMO.

Everything else is quite good to my ears! thumbsup
