Too much tape saturation?

This is my first post on this site. Any comments/questions are welcome. Tear it apart. It is a live multitrack mix recorded through a soundcraft board into a digi 002. Tracks were then recorded to 1/2" 4 track and recorded back in the 002 for mixing. No vox on this mix...they are still being worked on.

Look we cant say much, this is a live recording.. guitars need clearance of background noise and drums need compressing pretty bad. Try some extra "mix touches" over each track you have and it will be nice. If you have only the final mix... keep on working..

cool, i've yet to get the drums sounding like i want them to. one problem is the hihat is too loud in the overheads, so in order to get the crashes at a good level, the hihat begins to stick out too much. any suggestions to balance this out? automation? compression?
