Hi all! I'm almost done mixing this singer/songwriter production, but I feel there's something missing, just can't put my finger on what exactly..so please take a quick listen and tell me what you guys think! I'd really appreciate it..I'm due to deliver on friday http://users.du.se/~h01danbe/Musik/Josse/ Thanx! /Daniel Beckman |

Interesting stuff. Tell that singer to wear a jacket when their singing, they are shivering! (kidding) The mixes are really flat, meaning the verses and chorus sound almost the same. You need to do some volume changes, panning changes, etc to make the choruses jump out more or something. The 2nd song is a lot better "Nobody will come". Also, they need more bass. Smooth, level, large bass. Other than that, just some good mastering.

| Gear maniac | Well I thank you on her behalf . Her name is Josefine Lindh. She used to be in a band called Miss the Point (I think there's still a few of their songs in the parent directory under the link above) until they split up almost a year ago. So now she does her own thing instead. I think she's got a "love it or hate it" voice...very different. I personally enjoy it a lot...although the "sheep-ish" vibrato can be a bit too much at times |

Haha, yeah, my vocal booth is actually a bit chilly, don't know if that's the culprit though Thanx for the comments! You're absolutely right about the "flatness" level-wise...thanks, didn't think about that..I'll see what I can do about it. I also think the bass might be a bit thin...I'll try to make it smoother without interferring with the kick drum, even though it might be harder than usual, as the bass is programmed Thanks again, really appreciate it! /Daniel Beckman | |
