Ditto on the riding of the fader but it sounds solid other than that. Nice work.

someone wanted some drum details..

it was a pearl masters kit. snare we used a controlled sound head.

kick - d112 / subkick -> avalon 737 -> distressor
snare - 57 up / 414 bottom -> API 3142 ->1176
hats - SM7 -> API 3142
rack - 421 -> API 3142
floor - d112 -> API3142
oh - at4033 -> Trident Pre's
room - pzm / tlm103 -> Trident Pre's

hey "slingero guitaro", theres not a sample on snare. its jsut tons of compression.

this rules, it seems you really captured how a pop song like this should sound. mellow and well, poppy i guess haha.

what mic was used on the lead vocals?

it sounds really good to me! the main thing i see wrong is the vocals need to be quite a bit louder as they tend to get buried at times. ride the fader during the louder sections. also the vocal seems very excited- there isnt a lot of body to it. it works during the quiet parts of the song but I like to hear more fullness during the louder sections- maybe create a seperate track with a different EQ setting for those sections.

I agree. The guitars are too loud IMHO.

its meant to have punch though. when i had the guitars lower, it woudln't really have the feel. it was a bit of a battle. the singer has a very toppy voice. i havent used any exciters. if anything, i have been cutting in the top end. i didn't want the vocal to sound too dull though so didnt cut extreme amounts.

Just got through listening to it Longwave. Honestly, after my first listen on my hd 280 headphones, (It's late) I would say it sounds nice. The song and performance are solid, (Not necessarily ultra original but what can you do) the mix is solid as well. The only thing that jumped out to me is that the highs seem a little lost in the louder chorus sections. It would be nice to hear that "sparkly" 1073 sound on the tambourine. Maybe you could get away with adding that after hard limiting so those high transients aren't affected.

This track sounds really well recorded, really nice kit sound, I like the punch of the kick and toms. Maybe a little more low end on the kick?

I reckon the snare could be slightly louder? Also the bass isn't quite cutting through as much as it could.

Guitars sound great and I like them where they are in the mix.

Really like the clarity of the recording. Did you record straight onto Nuendo? And if so what interface did you use?

Also, how were the guitars recorded? What amp and mic + mic pre etc?

Good work!

Nice!

I agree that the guitars overtake the vocals a bit, but otherwise a great listen!

Nice clean mix. No doubt about some really great sounds. For the style of the vocalist, I would have liked to hear a little dirt and aggressiveness from the track. It's definitely a pop song, so I'm sure some other folks will think I'm way off base.

A great job though and even better with some tweaking... levels at different points, but that has been mentioned.

Sounds tits man... only thing I could use a little more of is cymbals... they seem a bit barried and I think it would rock to have them up a bit more.

Amazing Job
