"the kidnapping - cast the first stone"

finished this one up the other night, its the first time we've tried clean vox in a song also. it came out better than i thought it would though

drums are drumkit from hell superior, guitars were all tracked with a 5150 direct using impulses for the cab sim

I love the song. Very Bullet for my Valentine. Now for the bad I hate those toms. There are way better toms in DFH. Loose a tiny bit of the click in the kicks. They are very Panteraish. I hear them being more like I Lay Dying or any other Andy Sneap mix. A little more mids and less highs. Did I say I really love this song. Keep up the good work.

Very nice ! The clicks in the kick kinda stick too much out. You should lower the volume of the kick just a bit

Keep it up !

CLick on Kick is too much..
Toms sound too fake...
Drums are a little too loud..
Snare sounds nice but sounds like it was laid down with a grid..

Crank up those guitars a bit more.. Love the sound of em...

Love the vocals..
Maybe lowering the drums a tad will draw my attention away from the sound..

Overall good job..

Man, that sounds awesome!

Kicks are a bit too loud with a bit too much 4k. Push the guitars up. Great Job!

the new one is just called "cast the first stone", does it sound better? i mostly tried to tame the kick and reworked the guitar tones

i like the direction. the high end in the kick in the second mix sounds like its in a lot better shape. i really like the guitars, they're not too overdriven with distortion. it still has a nice tone to it, but with aggression. nice! do you use drumagog?

its a 5150 with a tubescreamer infront, i recorded the direct preamp out into my interface and used cabinet impulses on them instead of micing a cab. in the guitar bus i have a waves c4 with andy sneap settings (120-250 range, everything else bypassed) and then eq

Sound good to me.

I think there are some low frequencies on the guitars that should be cutted away... Not sure. Have you used Massey tapehead on snare and bassdrum?? They´re really good sounding.. Good work man.

it was done with convolution, the impulses i used are from the andy sneap forums, one is like a marshall T75 and one was a mesa v30, im not sure exactly where they are but if you check those forums out you can probably find them
