The mix sounds to me like a typical 80s mix.. so it's not terrible, but it's not brilliant either!
the kicks are a little lost in the mix on small speakers though (that's what i'm using right now).

Pretty good stuff though!

Sounds generally okay other than a few things,

It may be my hearing is getting worse, but it sounded like the guitar mix in L-R was heavily biased towards on side.

The tom sound is a bit lifeless sounding. Needs more low end balls!

The snare sound is very snap and not much crack. I would have mixed in a higher top to bottom mix and compressed the batter side mic heavily.

That guy has tons of influences from Chuck Shuldiner (one my favs)

the band is cool... the mix is old school
Sounds like Human at some parts.

So familiar sound to me... I actually miss it.

Anyhow, I like the late 80's early 90's sound to it You just need the long tailed reverbs now lol

seems that todays stuff is overly triggered and way too aggressive sounding.

good job man

Jason

thanks guys! his snare was a tiny ass picollo that was really whimpy for this style.
the band is totally old school so we went for that sound/feel.

YEAH! I like this!!! Cool band indeed!!!
Old school = the REAL school

Actually I would have prefered it more "messier". More "crazy reverb" on the 2-bus a´la Scream Bloody Gore. More of a "mess" if you know what I mean....
And maybe more punchier compressor on the vocals. Real Death Metal (like this) is all about overkill, and that´s what I miss about this.

But really cool work I must say!
