old school vinyl mastering?

was wondering if anyone here could point me in the direction of a good place to get 2 songs mastered for a 180g 45rpm 7" record? the songs are not hip-hop or dance but more old-school pop/rock. so were looking for someone who knows how to really make a master that will sound great on this format.

yup, i've got both of them on my list and golden mastered my old band's first album and did a great job. he's so busy though. i wonder if he would have time to do a 7"! almost seems like a waste of his skills!

Oh, I dunno... John does seven inches all the time. I doubt he sees them as a waste of time. If he did, they wouldn't be on his rate card.

That said, I wouldn't hesitate to go with Paul Gold.

I do lots of vinyl premasters myself. I've had the best results when someone like Paul Gold does a flat cut of my premaster, but if you are aware of the phase and frequency response issues that can potentially cause trouble when cutting, it's possible to prepare a CD premaster than almost any pressing plant can cut without much room for error. I've done more vinyl premasters than I can count this year. All but one has turned out great. The one in question was cut far, far too hot and came out distorted. Have no idea who cut it. Thank God the band included a CDR copy of my premaster with the vinyl... at least that sounds good.
