I just did an album for a band out of Hawaii called Living In Question, a great heavy, heavy band... half the record was mixed by Tchad Blake. What Island are you on... always loves Kauai myself (nothing like hiking the Napali coast!)

I charge 85.00 a song for my work... my colleagues charge 150.00 to 500.00.

Find someone who will work with you... there are plenty of good mastering houses out there at reasonable costs. They are just usually in secondary markets such as myself (upstate NY) as the cost of living (and doing business) is so much less.

I'm a little closer to you in L.A., and charge 95.00 per track to master.

I have a hybrid analogue/digital chain with SSL G-series comp., Smart C2, and GML 8200 EQ, plus basically any ITB plugs needed to get the job done.

I just did mastering for a jazz album that sold well on Amazon.com and received critical acclaim from a top NYC radio station.
