Dear friends, an old pal of mine is looking for someone in Oslo (Norway) and neighborhood that has both the knowledge and equipment to transfer a batch of 2" reel master tapes (24 track, perhaps some 16 track, either 30 or 15 ips). At least one of the tape has DBX NR as well. Probably some mastering and mixing services are required as well. Any kind of help would be really welcomed. Thank you. |

Hi Scott, I'd talk to NRK and/or the National Archives in Mo i Rana. AFAIK there aren't/weren't a whole lot of 2" machines in Norway to begin with, and that was 30 years ago... Best of luck, Thor

Hei Thor, thanks for your kind efforts, much appreciated. I already knew it would be very tough to find someone in Norway, but I'll keep the fingers crossed. The nearest neighborhood I've found so far is in ... Sweden. |

I would guess that Denmark might also have more than a few 2" machines, f.x. Pan or any of the larger studios with a history. If you can make a quick trip to the UK, there are plenty of machines and knowlegable operators to help you make the transfer. Let us know how you make out. Thor |
