Looking for high quality AND affordable mastering engineer...

Hi All:

Feeling a little uncomfortable about asking this one in public as I have experience with and great respect for top mastering engineers -- e.g., Bob Ludwig, Greg Calbi, Tom Coyne on some past projects... BUT, I'm currently finishing up a project that just doesn't allow that kind of budget -- I wish it did, but it doesn't! So, I'm looking for names of really good ME's who, simply, don't cost as much and who have great ears, a sensibility right for the material, and a solid combination of high quality analog and digital gear -- good analog is critical. The material's indie-alt rock, not too heavy, but strong/big/punchy/driving at times, atmospheric and a bit trashy at times, and more -- elec gtrs, elec violin, moog, organ, mellotron, accordion, drums, bass, and occasional chamber style horns -- 10 songs. The mixes are in process and are being done by a couple of really good engineers (with very good experience & credits) who are working affordably unattended and fitting things into their higher profile schedules as they can. But, no big money left for mastering (e.g., $4,000+)...

Any recommendations???

Thanks a lot!

Brian Lucey is great. www.magicgardenmastering.com

If you don't want to take my word for it, listen to the new Black Keys record!
