whos cutting awesome dance vinyl in the UK?

Hi

I am just enquiring to see what the industry types think about vinyl pressing options in the UK?

Whos hot right now, and also whos cheap and not terrible? I need a really good (not LOUD good) sounding 4 track EP cut at some point..

recent results anyone?

Heathmans doesn't exist any more, not for 2 or 3 years. In its place (literally) is 'Finyl Tweek'. Shane's still there cutting a lot of sides, doing top work.

Other alternatives - Beau at Masterpiece (my favourite), Simon at the Exchange, Jason @ Transition of course... plenty of options.

What specific style is it Joe?

Yo Macc.

it's going to be, hopefully, a 4 track EP of me and my friends music. People call it "future garage"

I guess it's a spin off of Dubstep, still the same amount of bass content and still being driven by the basslines, but A LOT more synth driven, often very lively ultra detuned/8bit layered business, grime and bassline influenced

Potential artists for the record if you wanna check out the sonic content:

Littlefoot on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Videos (me)
Dawntreader on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Videos
Casual P on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Videos
Erra on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Videos
spare on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Videos

thanks!

Not at odds with any other recommendations, but I enjoyed this video of George "Porky" Peckham which speaks to the subject, which I think Steve Berson posted in some prior thread I can't find:

+1 on Beau

Also per recalls recommendation John Dent is very good.

Personally, from direct experience, Id go with Stu Hawkes @ Metropolis

+1 for Shane McEnhill at Finyl Tweak - and Nilz at Exchange does great work as well. When I was cutting dance sides at Europadisk 4 years ago when folks brought in reference discs for things they wanted to "match or beat" they usually were cut by one of these two.

George "Porky" Peckham unfortunately has retired from cutting.

Best regards,
Steve Berson

As noted above George retired from cutting - forget the exact year he closed "Porky's Mastering" but I think it was about 5 years ago.

He has an ebay shop where he sells music related memorabilia at
eBay UK Shop - Porky's Prime Cuts: Autographs, Framed other, Framed LPs

Best regards,
Steve Berson

No sour grapes, but it's quite easy to spot the same basic grammar error of not putting a space after a comma or a full stop in all four posts.

Also doing the first fake plug under the username gappylee, then another fake user mentioning having something cut by lee...you could have at least made a bit of an effort.

Try the PM function next time then you won't have to register 4 times.

in the UK it's Nilz@ The Exchange for me. If you're willing to cross the channel, i can only recommend Rashad Becker in Berlin's Dubplates & Mastering - my all-time-all-over-the-world favourite!
