Randy Merrill from Masterdisk

Just wanted to give some props to Randy for some mastering he did for my band recently.

I had another thread up where he joined a bunch of engineers for a free test master so that my bandmates & I could blindly choose what we felt sounded the best for our record.

Randy's work on our album was nothing short of outstanding. While we recorded everything ourselves in a decent studio, his mastering took everything to the next level we were looking for. The tracks came out LOUD yet not smashed to the kilt, clear, punchy and really just all around fantastic. I am not lying when I say that when we all put the first rev in our CD players we all said "hey, it sound like a REAL record!"

He was really easy to work with, always prompt and clear with communication, and his turnaround times were almost absurdly fast.

I can't thank him enough for going the extra mile on our project, so I thought I'd at least send some good feedback out on the interwebs for anyone else searching for a really good mastering engineer.

i recently did a trial run on having some tracks mastered, and randy was in the mix. i have not met him in person, but i'd like to. he was very assiduous and professional in his communications with me. he did a great job on the trial master, i thought, but the band picked another top-notch offering.

i would have no trepidation about doing business with him, and hope that i do indeed at some point in the near future!

gotta love a real pro...

best,
