Mastering for self financed acoustic folky pop EP

Hi,

We're looking for a ME to master our 5 track EP (approx 18mins)
We will supply 44.1kHz/24bit .wav with no processing on the master bus.

Music is acoustic folky pop with drums, cello, ac gtr, piano etc.

We really don't have much in the way of budget but we'd like to avoid going with a 'bedroom mastering'/ITB service.

We're based in the UK but are happy to supply work via FTP although we might like a physical master - this isn't critical though, we could work with a disc image via FTP.

If anyone is interested then please contact us at:

allthefires@gmail.com

Thanks.

Didn't PM you.

Never could understand why people do that... "PM'd you" -- as if they wouldn't notice that they had a bunch of PM's in their folder. You'd actually think that people would try hard NOT to "bump" a post just to day "PM'd you" because every time it gets bumped, X-number more people see the post. Then there's the people that say "PM'd you (x-number of) days ago and you haven't responded yet" like it was some chick they met in a bar who didn't call back when you gave here your phone number.

I dunno. Sorry - Didn't mean to rant - I just don't get it...

Carry on!

Thanks!

Thanks to everyone who contacted us

I'm going to go through all the options with the other members of the band and contact a few people who are within our budget.

Thanks again!

I would like a ferrari but I don't want to pay for it

I always think its a pity people respond to these types of requests, its not like its a lot of money to pay going rates for five songs

pm me about the ferrari, I only have enough budget for a scooter.

Thanks for your 'wisdom' narco.

I never said we wouldn't pay the going rate, I was merely making it clear from the start that we are not capable of paying for a Bob Ludwig, but we are nonetheless looking for a professional service rather than an amateur one - we could master ITB ourselves but we want a fresh pair of ears involved.

Most of the 15 replies that we've had so far (via email not PM!) have fallen within our budget and been from people who do it for a living so I can't see that any harm has been done, and to be honest I've been surprised at what good rates are on offer from some of the mastering houses, especially the ones based in the USA (in no small part due to the fact the euro is almost as strong as the pound these days)
