Mastering Studio in Paris

Hello,

We have almost finish to mix our album (14 tracks-french hip-hop), and we are looking for the finest mastering studio in Paris-France.

I've been reading all french forums for a while now, without any updated infos, that's why I try here to have more accurate answers.

I've heard about Translab and la Source, do you have any infos about these studios?

I've also heard that Masterdisk New York opened a studio in Paris (Masterdisk Europe) but except from the site, I don't have many infos on that studio.

People told me about E-Mastering, but as we want to be here for the session, we want a studio here.

Thx for your help.

Ju.

Hi,

i've just seen your post...
These mastering studio (translab and La source) are ok (but not everytime), i don't like how they work and they are expensive, i had a very bad experience with MasterDisk Paris (they are not serious).
I have a mastering studio in Marseille, maybe i can make a test for you (for free).
I have masterised some French Bands : Massilia Sound System, Moussu T e lei jovents, Toko Blaze, many others...and i like Hip-hop...

You can contact me at delannoy.lionel@numericable.fr or my phone 0612470644.

Thanks,

Lionel.

I would say, don't go to Translab (it sucks !). La Source and Masterdisk (they do a lot of french hip hop like Diam's and Sinik) are fine.

Masterdisk in Paris is not affiliated in any way with Masterdisk in New York.

24-96 Mastering is not quite in Paris, but close to Strasbourg, just over the border in Germany (City of Karlsruhe).

We work with many french clients from many musical scenes, so if the travel is acceptable to you (4-5 hours), please consider us.

As far as I've heard from my french clients, with mastering studios, you have the choice of Paris, Marseille, Bruxelles (Belgium), Karlsruhe (Germany).

Good luck with your session, whomever you choose!

Dave -
afaik this is not correct - go to Masterdisk's site and there is a link to Masterdisk Mastering Studios-Paris on their contact page.

Best regards,

Thanks for your answers.

I've double checked the infos I could find on the net, and it seems that La Source and Masterdisk are the only two "big" studios in Paris now, for hip hop at least.

I ve asked for prices and maybe for a test on one track, to be sure, as your infos and feeling about the studios are so different.

Thanks for your offer Lionel, but we want to do it in Paris. How could it be so bad in this studio, it seems to have quite a lot of references and good albums done there, no?

Please do not forget "L'autre Studio" wich is as serious as really good and fine sound.

It is also cheapper than every body else in France, but for one time, the cheapper is the best.

(it is only my thought)

I'm a little late to the party, but I've had very good results from Jean Pierre at La Source. He has mastered everything I've done in France and I find his work on par with the best in the U.S. Maybe a little more expensive than others in Paris, but you get what you pay for, I believe.
