Looking for BUDGET Mastering Services in Sydney for Rock Instrumental CD

Hello,

I have a rock instrumental CD that i need to master. I really want someone else to master my CD, but it's been so hard to find (and trust) a cheap mastering services. It's really hard to justify spending hundreds of dollars for CD mastering services, when it's just purely a hobby of mine. Not really trying to have a career in music, etc.

The cheapest local rate that i could find in Sydney is $150/track at Turtlerock (which makes $1500 for 10 songs... OUCH!). Or the other option is Sonamax, which charges $1100 per album. The famous studio is called 301 Mastering with Don Bartley as their senior ME, they charges $200/hr...

I'm gonna have to save like 3 or 4 months to be able to afford these rates.... crap :(

I need a cheaper solution...

I believe Turtlerock rates are 150/HRS (250 with Rick) and not per song - so why do you assume each song will take an hour to do? The initial setup may take an hour and the rest maybe 10min/song.

Not underestimating anyone though - u never know which 10yr old can make you wish you never picked up a musical instrument these days .. same applies in any field incl. audio...

Like anything - usually what u pay is what u get ... it's not like bargain hunting on ebay for a partic. item It's a service. The fact that you are going that extra mile to master it externally says u give quite the fuk about your work - its the final sugar coat. Or if u want to go budget ... RENT a BOMB for 35/day or a hyundai getz ay europecar for 65/day.

I'll do it, I've mastered a few budget projects and I'm right near Manly. I guarantee it won't sound as good as TurtleRock but hey send me a track if you want for a test run.

Cheers

(A) As this was originally posted in 2007, I'd sort of hope by now they've made a decision...

(B) Your web site link is wrong.

(C) ON your web site, your rates show a full album for only $120. Would you really charge 4x that to an unsuspecting client who could easily come across your page only to find out that he's been ripped for 400%? Calling it a "Cheap Rate" to boot...? Man, I'd be pissed...

I've got a Fairchild 670 and it's really nothing to write home about..... ...It's made by some company called Bomb Factory and...Oh, you meant a real one...never mind.

I'd take eyes, a calendar, and a brain that works over a Fairchild. IMHO etc.

I'll do it for $25/track. I can e-mail samples of my work, I accept payment via PayPal and you don't pay ANYTHING until you're completely satisfied with your final product. E-mail me at: iamcanio@gmail.com

Okay--I'll pay $100 per track to master it. But not a penny less!
