I need mastering done...paying...

Hey whassup everyone...I've been looking all over the internet to get mastering done on my artists album...I've seen a couple places that charge $600 for a whole album or $25 per song around there.

I'm looking for someone thats real good with mastering hip hop/rap tracks and is willing to do it for a small price and can work with me on how I need them to sound and maybe continue work for future projects.

I'm the producer for Track Bangas Production which I know a lot of yall heard of..and my artist is "GV"

Mastering ranges form $25/song for something you'd mostly want to avoid, to $250/song.

You'd need to post this in the Sub Forum to solicit engineers, and I'd ask around to people who've been on your budget to see where they went. The worse your mix the more time you'll need with a good ME to get something good, so it's best yet to work on the mix on your own time before mastering.

There is an mp3 forum to post your mixes and get feedback.

On the surface, price seems like a good way of determining the worth of a mastering service. However, the proof is always in the pudding. You can pay a lot for something less than fantastic, and, on the flipside, it *is* possible to get a stellar deal... if you're careful and smart about the choices you make.

I highly recommend checking the credits (on the ME's site or at allmusic.com) of the people you're considering. Do they frequently master the kind of music you engineer? Have you heard any of the records they've worked on? Are they working with labels you'd like to be associated with?

Ultimately, the web is only modestly helpful for finding a mastering service. There isn't a better recommendation than that of other engineers who are sending out lots of work for mastering and have real-world experience with multiple engineers. Ask around.

Best value for the money would be to spend the money on the "vocalchain/mix" imo.

Brian Lucey gave you good advice about that. He's probably too shy to mention it so I will: Brian is a fabulous mastering engineer. He took a mix I thought was perfect and made it even better. If you want good results you won't go wrong having him handle your project.
