What cheap video camera for music video and short movies?

Hello

I've seen today you can buy Full HD video camera for like 200 euros, and I was thinking to get one to start making some videos

I'd like to get something with a nice optics, I don't care about features I'd like to get the best acquisition quality I can get, then I'll use softwares to manipulate it

I'd like a camera that represent all nuances of colors, not ultra hyped where all the colors seems like solid colors and with a good, capable, zoom

Do you have any suggestion?

Also what between CCD and CMOS? Which is preferrable?

Thanks

I think the growing availability of presets in synths started to make musicians lazy: they were so amazed at what they could use, they stopped thinking if they should.

The Canon EOS-7D doesn't suck too much, especially for the price ($1700 from most dealers).

What's your budget? Feature films have even been shot on mobile phones.

Make sure you set aside some cash for sound recording as well.

I was talking about cheap video camera not expensive photo camera, as I wrote in the first post, I've seen cheap video camera at around 2/300 euros, full HD, and that was the category I had in mind, not something around 1k or more

About the audio I'm already set, I'm just looking for a video camera

Thank you

What about the GoPro hero2 , you can strap in to your head whilst filming music videos.
The sound quality is crap but the picture quality is good when balanced with cost.

These are pretty rocking cameras. They're fun as hell.

GoPro Hero 3 Silver Live Band sample 720p - YouTube

These cameras look great when not in a low light situation, they're really good for filming in small spaces because the lens is incredibly wide

Your wants are kind of polar opposites. You want a cheap camera with good optics. Ain't going to happen. Good glass comes at a price. Most 200 to 300 euro camera have plastic lens to keep the cost down.

Find a used HD video camera and go from there.

Buy from someone like B&H Photo so you know what you will be getting. All their cameras have been checked over and they offer a return policy.

Best of luck!
