Sidechaining in cubase

firstly you need a plug with sidechain ability ie Sonalksis buss comp then.....

if its bass to kick:

create a new group channel: from the menu select "quadro"
then go into "vst connections", right click on the new bus and add "child buss L and R"

set the out put of the bass buss or channel to the the quadro buss

make sure the vst is set to external sidechain

go to the kick channel and create a send to the to the child buss

fiddle with untill it pumps just right for ya ;)
