Thumbs down Callaham Vintage Guitar Parts

I'm looking into upgrading my tele for more sustain, volume and less feedback. I am considering the Callaham Compensated bridge and their pre-wired control plate, I would also like to upgrade to Kinman Broadcaster pup's.

This will be a very costly upgrade but thats ok if it will improve the quality of my tone.

If any of you have had any experience with Callaham parts and(or) Kinman pups please let me know if I am making a good investment or not.

Thank you.

Last year I build a Tele with neck and body from USACustomguitars and all hardware - except pu´s - from Callaham. From my experience I can highly recommed the Callaham parts you are looking at. The parts are topnotch and the bridge really ads to the sustain and looks killer too.

Pretty much the best aftermarket strat/tele parts money can buy. Period.

Their parts are the best! I don't like Kinman pickups. You may consider Callaham version of Callaham's Cryo-Fralins pickups. They have very good definition, clarity and are slightly warmer than similar Fralins'.

BTW, I have 2 S models made by Mr. Callaham. Amazing guitars! Best of the best!

I've put Callaham parts on a few guitars and it's always made them better. Not sure I buy into the cryo bit, but the trem blocks make a big difference. Also, replacing the brass bridgeplate on my AS Tele made a huge difference in getting rid of the icepick. That pickup needs the steel surround to sound right. I also like what the vintage type saddles they make did for my two point Strat Ultra.
I had Kinmans in a previous guitar as well as the latest gen Fender Noiseless that came in my current Strat. The Kinmans are okay but nothing like a decent Strat pup. Even the budget D'Allen's kill the Kinmans. If you really need noiseless, I'd look into the Suhr system. I have a set of Suhr Fletcher/Landaus in my Strat now and would put them up against any of the Frailins or Lollars I've played.

I've used a few Callaham parts on some guitars. They're really great. I had a vintage Strat trem assembly fitted to one of my buddies guitars for his birthday, and it was killer. The trem felt good, it was less "clanky" sounding than the standard Fender MIJ offering.

Go for it. You have nothing to lose.
