EAB Geiling V65

Hi there,

Many thanks for reading. I should have the opportunity to acquire an EAB Geiling V65 mixer. My difficulty is that I am a beginner in sound (I am a musician more than a sound expert). I do intend to record at home. This mixer has been suggested by a relative to reach a 60s sound that I really love. Here are my answers...maybe obvious for professionals, but so basic to me: what this mixer would offer me? Does this mixer allow me to plug microphones as well as intruments (guitar/bass/drums)? Is it possible to plug monitors? Is it possible to connect a compressor/limiter? Any informations about the use of this mixing desk, its potentialies, its reliability, its sound colour, would be very much appreciate. Many thanks. Vivian

GEILING/EAB V65 Tube-Mixer 6/1 [9411] - €*1,999.00 : Schmitronic, Studio Equipment

Looks like a 6 channel to 1 mixer. Mono no doubt.
I know you need somebody with extensive technical knowhow to make sure it works as expected. If something breaks down it might be hard to fix it. If you want the 6 mic inputs to give 6 independent outputs it must be modified which might be extremely hard to do.

So it all depends: if it works and comes cheap, go for it, you'll at least have 1 great mic preamp. If it is expensive; think about what you want to do with it, what you can do with it and if it is worth the trouble and expense.
