Thread Starter | Put Address on Biz Cards?
Hey slutz - need some advice. I'm getting some new business cards made for the studio and I'm trying to decide if I should put my studio's physical address on the card. On the one hand, I want people to be able to understand the geography of where I am located. Also to me a physical address lends a little credibility. On the other hand, I worry about security. My place is not a big facility with a big "studio here!" sign on the front. I do not accept walk-ins, all clients are by appointment only. What do you guys think? Thanks! |

You don't need the physical address. If they contact you by phone or email, you can clearly describe your location and provide directions. If someone were to find your card somewhere, it would be a great opportunity to know where expensive things are located. |

Yes see above, unless your place is literally fort Knox is leave it off. You also don't want people turning up unexpectedly wanting to be shown round whilst your in a session

I don't put my address on mine or in the phone directory........but in the internet age you can get maps showing the way right to my studio door!

Hey y'all, follow up question: Should I put my office AND cell number on my website or just the office number (now, the office number is actually a dummy number that forwards to my cell, but that's kind of irrelevant)?

No address on the business card - just the city. You can put the neighborhood/district if the city is really big. My phone number is on my card, but not my website. I would get soooo many idiots calling me if my number were on there. I don't mind idiot e-mails, but phone calls would piss me off.

| Let them get in touch by phone or email. You don't need anyone getting in touch by showing up without having done that first - either during a session, or in the middle of the night with a panel van.

I wouldn't. For the me the card is a way to initiate with me, if a client needs an address they'll receive it at the appropriate time

Thread Starter | Agreed thanks - the comment you quoted was in reference to having the phone # on the site. I have decided no address on either, just city/state, and office but not cell on the site, with office and cell on the card. Thanks for the advice all!

We have our address on our cards and the front page of our site. If someone is looking to rip off a studio, they are going to case your spot anyhow. Come in for a tour. At least they would if they had a head on them. Even still, you should have insurance on all of your gear (Inventory everything) and you should have locks, cameras and alarms. Just my $0.02
