question about sending out reference mixes

Hi
I usually send out reference mixes in high quality mp3.
Maby 2-3 with small adjustments will leave the studio before we have a final mix
But lately as mp3 is so popular I just don`t like the idea that there are more versions out there.

Do you send out mp3 mixes? or do you stream the mixes until the client is satisfied and the send out a final mix wav?

When mixing remotely, high quality MP3s for previews. Then full res wavs once mixes approved.

MP3s clearly labelled as revisions, masters clearly labelled as such. If client is daft enough to confuse a listening review MP3 with their master mix, there's not much you can do to counteract stupidity!

As it says in the dilbert cartoons, anytime you make something idiotproof, they invent a better idiot...

Same here, 320kbps MP3's for the ref's, and the wavs only once we settle on the final mix. Occasionally a client will ask for wavs for the ref's to, but that's fine with me.
