New Website

Hey guys, can you give me some opinions on the website?
Im not pushing the physical room and buildings itself, just the service. I am making 30s clips of my previous work for the media page at the minute so obviously thats one thing that needs work!

DARKINS SOUND STUDIOS

Thanks guys!

Well, I'm not crazy about the green. Everything looks great except that bright green, but that a matter of personal taste. Your pics look great until you get to "media" - the overhead shot, and then it looks like you're in your bedroom. Maybe you use a different pic? Other than those two small observations, your site looks very professional!

The Pam Jackson pic on the front page looks stretched weird or something. Mark Cahill is on your clients page twice. I'd agree about the bedroom pic. The site looks really nice and professional until you see that. Not saying the room is an issue, but there's got to be a better way to display it.

Thanks for the replies guys. The gaudy green is one change I have been meaning to make for ages. As a rule I wouldnt like this pallet but I think it works well apart from the really luminous green! And that overhead shot is one I actually got called up on before. I have to say it never bothered me, although I admit it does make the studio look really bare!

Thanks guys, keep the replies coming.

some more general comments here - when I enter your site I see
Audio Recording - Session Musicians - Mobile Recording, I see Noel Flynn, Matt Leavey etc. - but I dont see who you are - the darkins sound studios - that is hidden in the lower left corner.

Make unsmistakebly clear who you are. If it was not for this review I woulf have left that page immediatelly.

Add some fotos to show what your clients can expect, equipment, rooms, atmosphere etc.

And please call that thing studio if it's just one studio (that's what it looks like) and not studios.

IMO, the general impression is not too professional, both the layout and the fotos are better amateur level, the equipment you show on the few fotos is not highest quality equipment as mention in the text on the media page - I mean a Tascam controller is nice, a small keyboard controller aswell, but you talk about highest quality - thats a different kind of animal.

So, I've got the impression that there is a discrepancy between the words (studios, highest quality etc.) and what seems to be actually there - dont do that - make absolutelly clear what the clients can expect. In case my impression is incorrect and you have that high level you mention - show it with your website - with a professional layout.

Dont get me wromg - its nothing against you - its just my impression from visiting your website - hope that helps a bit.

I don't understand if this is one guy selling his services, or a studio.

(well, I do from your post here, but the website doesn't make it clear).

Very light on detail, heavy on flashy graphics and pics.
