Thread Starter | Southern California intern
I am an 18 year old with a passion for music. I listen to a wide variety of music, spanning from Dr. Dre to Rancid. I have learned the basics of multitrack recording by myself. I currently use Logic Pro 9 to record my band. I would LOVE to intern or work in a professional recording studio to gain knowledge of the art of recording. If anyone could please give me any information on how to obtain an internship in Southern California, please let me know. thank you

The world of music is a lot wider than the narrow wedge between Dre and Rancid. You might want to check out John Coltrane, Philip Glass, Johnny Clegg, Ornette Coleman, the Kronos Quartet, Hans Zimmer, Sergey Prokofiev, Stan Kenton, Christopher Young, Frank Zappa, Igor Stravinsky, etc. The musical world is a very large place, and if you're going to be a professional, you'll eventually get called to record a wide variety of music. Best to have an idea of what it's supposed to sound like.Good luck with your internship-hunting.

^ ouch man.. 3 to 4+ hours of traffic every day? that'll ****ing wear on you sooner than later. i would really look for a closer studio than the hollywood grind if possible man. even if you think you can do it, thats a shit load of time and gas just for an internship |
