Thread Starter | Using a song for a company
Hi there, I've been searching through this forum for a year or two. I've always found what I needed through search till now. I mainly record metal but recently got several offers to record custom hold messages for companies in my area. Example is if you call a company and they put you on hold and you hear the music with a message over the top. My question is about the rights to use a song. I thought that as long as I bought the song each time. It was legal. But the more I am thinking about it I am not sure. Do I have to pay royalties or buy the rights to the song? Or am I limited to using public domain music? Thanks in advance Davus |

Your best bet is to contact a Music Library and get a license that will clear you from all liabilities. Here's a few good ones... westarmusic.com reservemusic.com atomicamusic.com bronxisburning.com megatrax.com etc.
