Educational Opportunities

Sorry, but I wasn't sure where to post this question, so if it needs to be moved, so be it...

My question is this: what places, do you know of, can you get educational opportunities at renowned studios? For instance, I know that I can go to The Cutting Room in NYC, or Sigma Sound in Philly, PA and for roughly the same price, spend a weekend one-on-one with a top engineer.

What other studios offer this sort of thing? Has anyone out there done this? What were your thoughts on the experience?

We offer private, group, and remote instruction on recording, mixing, technical, and pretty much any topic that people want to learn. We'll also design and help with equipment installation for home studios set-up. I think we have done about 6 in-studio lessons, Mike Chav did a couple mixing lessons here, and quite a few Logic and Pro-Tools lessons.

Currently, I'm working out pricing and some "packages" for some of the most common areas people would look to us to help them take their knowledge to the next level. It's primarily been people inquiring with us or coming in for a session and then scheduling a few hours of one on one time.

I'd be interested to see what people would like to learn more about from our engineers and producers or from studios in general.

Well, for me personally, I love every chance I get to learn a new idea on mixing from another mix engineer, so that's what I'm mostly interested in. But I'd be interested to hear what others have to say about this, too.

this is an awesome idea.

Anywhere in the UK that offers educational studio visits?

(Self promotion alert)

Myself, Michael Wagener, and Bruce Swedien all do in studio recording workshops that could provide an interesting opportunity to learn directly from working engineers.
