Website Design for Studio/Recording Company...

I was wondering if people could give me website addresses I could use as examples for content and lay out for a recording studio/company I am starting. Any site relating to studios or recording companies would be great. Thank you.

most I've seen include too much old vanity about their gear and floorplans.
nobody cares about that except the idiot owner who owes for the purchases.
so maybe DON'T BUILD ANOTHER STUDIO WEBSITE THAT ONLY SHOWS YOUR FLOORPLANS AND GEAR RACKS!

I'm proud of my website, which does have gear and floorplans, but also says something about its purpose and intentions.

Just remember when designing the site to factor in that there will be a lot of images, and a lot of text, the site also serves a purpose so make sure its very clear and to the point. Have your main information on the landing page.

Here is some advice for you. Get it made by some one who knows what they are doing. There is more to building a website than meets they eye. The especially placing on the search engines.

If your looking for sample check out my website. Recording Studio Houston_In the Jar Studios .

My studio is located in Houston TX lots of competition so it's very SEO is very important in your planning for getting potential clients to find you in such a vast ocean of information the web is. Just do a search for recording studios, Houston see how my site comes up on all three major search enginess Google, Yahoo, Msn in that order. I can probably help you out this how I make money when I have down time.

I just finished updating sites for Tom Bethel. Here they are:

AcoustikMusik.com

Click on videos and you get the daughter site, Room With A View Productions.

I also have done flash websites like this:

Chrisrackauckas.com

The main thing is, make it easy navigation and make it easy to find your services and contact page! Also, a nice picture and some good samples are a must.

If you would like my services, I'd be glad to do it for a low price. I'm a starving student so all money is a lot to me

Flash. Cripples. Your. Site.

This can't be stressed enough.

Of course it can be used, and will. But you should make certain everything is accessible without Flash too.

And yes, get a pro to do it.

When you click on the "Services" link the top header changes. I thought that was confusing.

Also, I recommend linking your corporate site to the various social networks -- facebook, myspace, twitter, etc. Start blogging.

If you really plan to use your website and not just leave it stagnant online, there are a few things to think about.

Your website should be the 'source' for information about your studio online. Using a blog on your site to post up coupons, event information, maybe some tips and tricks, can be very beneficial.

Using other social services, ie. twitter, facebook, myspace, etc. you can sync up with the website, and then spread the word quickly.

As a default you will probably want these pages

- blog(latest blog posts)
- about(info about your studio, location, engineers, experience, etc)
- photos(some cool shots of your rooms, keep it simple)
- portfolio(have some samples of music recording at your spot)
- contact(simple contact form that sends you an email)

All of this can be accomplished with a single Wordpress installation and be very functional if you are willing to put in the time and effort.

I could probably go on for a long time about all of this, so I'll leave it at that for now.

Good luck!

Hi there!

I just launched a new version of the website for my studio. And I must say I am VERY satisfied with the result. Please check it out, maybe it could be used as a reference? Recording studio and music production - Oslo, Norway | Steps Music

If you need someone to do the design for you, please check the link at the bottom of my page.

Don't be afraid to give Studio website build a try!!

After receiving a lot of pressure to put up a website, I met with a professional website design/marketing company. My engineer and I flew to their offices, and met with them for half a day. Two days later, I received their proposal which almost made me fall out of the chair, particularly when there were far more worthwhile uses for that kind of money. That made me want to at least take a shot at creating a very simple and purely informational website.
Without any previous experience with website creation (and my only experience with a Mac is Pro Tools/sound production), I built an acceptable website in a morning between phone calls, emails, etc. The greatest amount of additional time spent was deciding what to put on it and how to make sure it was optimized for google searches.
While not the slickest website and I still need to tweak page/photo loading, etc. (I used iWeb and its built-in templates and not the really slick ones you can purchase and download), I am quite satisfied, had a whole lot of fun doing it, and saved an incredible amount of money.
I offer this as encouragement for everyone else.
