Anyone know of any "rule of thumb" to figure out how much cash to set aside on an annual basis for the inevitable gear repair in an average 'home' studio (i.e., low usage, cushy environment)? Something along the lines of X% of total gear value... maybe broken down into gear categories (e.g., DAW digital stuff, instruments, amps, mics, etc.) Personally, I've been generally lucky in the sense that most of my gear has been trouble-free. But I've just had a recent incident with a digital audio interface that was waaay more expensive to have repaired than I was expecting. Any thoughts? |
