Acoustic Measurement/Audio Analyzing

What's the best software for this? I've heard good things about SIA SmaartLive and Roger Nichols InspectorXL. This would mainly be for measuring control room acoustics, frequency response, getting all scientific, etc. Perhaps there's a better hardware box out there also?

KT,

I use the ETF and R+D software from these guys:

www.etfacoustic.com

For $150 you get very sophisticated analysis tools that will tell you everything you need about a mix or live room. If you prefer a "hardware" version, buy a laptop PC to run it on.

THIS article on my company's web site explains more about how I use the program.

What about for live guys? Would you still use ETF from gig to gig when ringing out large speaker arrays in big halls or arenas? Currently I use SIA Smaart Live 5. Haven't tried etf yet though.

No, ETF is for domestic size rooms only.

Stick with that.
