Laminated glass thickness for each window to keep up with my walls.

Guys,

i have calculated that to keep up with my walls that are two layers of 16mm plasterboard (26kg/m2) i need 10mm laminated glass. This weighs 24.5kg/m2 (very close anyway).

I cant get 12mm glass for the other wall, the supplier has no stock, only 10mm and 8mm, and 8mm is a bit light i think.

Is it really that important to have two different thicknesses of glass in each wall. Would two 10mm pieces be Ok. The window is pretty small, about 1m x 1m.

Thanks,

JohnG

Yes, it will be ok. It is not easy to find any thickness of laminated glass, so use what you can find.

Cheers!
