Living Room and Bedroom setups

Just curious if there are any people who are using their living room as a control room and then using a bedroom as a live/tracking room?

Just looking for any advice or pics that anyone may have.

Thanks
Nicole

I'm going to do it
I have a 2 room apartment so I'm planning to sacrifice 1 room to my insane addiction.
It'll have a sofa so I will sleep there, too. No closets or other stuff.

I'm doing it the other way around. It's not fully set up yet since I'm traveling for the holidays, but I've got a thread on here that's got my rough plans and some pictures.

As for advice, if you live with people...make very nice with them. Simply offering to help my roommate with recording his podcast has pretty much made it OK to have a bajillion mic stands and cords all up in the crowded living room and he hasn't even taken me up on that offer yet. And be sure to clean up after yourself.

Yo. Look here:

1000 EUR semi-permanent livingroom studio built - key facts and foto documentation

Recording vocals close to mixing position works just fine.

Some early reflections and bass nodes in the back of the room, but not bothering much.

Cheers

Good thing is I stay by myself so no room mates to worry about.

I think calling it actually "recording" would be a joke. Basically any tracking done is through my beta58a (shure) going through a Motu Traveler with BLA mod's and at the very most its a friend recording some scratch vocals to get ideas down.

It's definitely not conducive to getting a quality sound with the current setup and lack of sound treatment that would be adequate.
