Roomtreatmentholic

My name is Switters and I am a roomtreatmentholic. Every time I pass from my supplier I buy staff to build more broadband absorbers more bass traps, more diffusion devices. Does my live space need more of it? Not sure. Does my control have significant acoustic problems? Maybe not much. But who is perfect? Does it worth the time, the money and the pushing for tomorrow real work? I don't know.

Am I gonna be fine doctor?

So I assume you already have every square inch of the walls, flor, and ceiling treated? What will you do with all that wasted airspace in between the walls?

No such thing as a perfect room, but any room can be improved.

I will hang a big big cloud that will be low as fog? :-)

I started this thread to see if beside the gear obsession, some of us get over concerned about the acoustics.
In every newbie question everybody rants "treatment treatment treatment" (or SM7b) but when do you realize that you are actually fine or that this big construction will probably wont add anything significant?

And finally that no bullsh*t, you will never have a perfect space or the big time acoustically designed studio performance?

You can always measure the room with things like the following
Room EQ Wizard Tutorial Video

But in the end what really counts is how well the control/mixing room translates (no surprises when listening back in other rooms) and or how well the live room gets the sound you want. Everyone has there own "finishing" line with anything.
