Staggered Stud Wall Questions. HELP!

I'm about to build my staggered stud wall and I have a couple questions. Is it ok if the Roxul insulation in the side walls is touching the outer wall and the backside of the staggered studs that the drywall will be screwed to?

Or should I add some wood to the top and bottom plates so the insulation which is touching the inside of the outer wall, is NOT touching that backside of the staggered studs??

I'm hoping the staggered stud wall and 5/8" drywall will make for a good sound proof room. Thanks for any help!!

It is better they do not, but it wouldn't make a huge difference if it did, AFAIK.

you can use 'straps' to keep it in place and not touching.
It's better if they don't touch IIRC.

unless you have real space issues i wouldn't bother with staggered stud walls. they are not that good.

just build 2 stud walls. it costs you and extra top and bottom plate.
