Long term, some kind of durable stiffener would be helpful. You can see the material flexing as it is handled in the video. If nothing else, maybe a couple of bamboo rods inserted into the insulation.
I think it is a good idea, simple to make. Light weight. Well Done!
Sure 2x4" would stack better,
I think for hanging I'd substitute the cardboard for some thin paneling and gluing on some washers and tie in some wire for picture hanging.
For most rooms you'd want as many as you had corners to cover so it might even be feasible to stack them square and cut with a fine toothed saw into triangle segments (messy) before mounting on the board.

A compressor is a "voltage turn it downer".
You can determine when it begins to turn it down and when it resumes from turning it down, even how quickly it does it's "turn it down" and by how much it turns it down so you can push more voltage into it to be turned down and then make up for gain lossed from turning it down.Bart Nettle
Any idea how that cardboard reflects? You may be nullifying the benefit of having an air gap behind the trap at certain frequencies. But it Looks good and very easy!
I found that making frames for the traps with furring strips worked very well and was not difficult.
You can hold the fabric in place using friction between the frame and the trap as well.
Edit, you could also make the exterior frame from cardboard instead of a backing. That would probably be easiest.
Or just wrap it in the burlap without the cardboard!
I think though with the cardboard that the reflections will get absorbed and be negligible as they are behind and this is a bass trap after all. Bass will go right thru it.
Wouldn't be much different to a framed version with the wall reflecting.

I don't have the testing saved but I did at one time test with something like that on the back. I was not real impressed with the results. I would try to cut away as much of the back as possible.
