Monitor Stands + Rubber Floormat = Sound Affected?

I'm thinking about getting some thick rubber mats to place underneath my monitor stands. I have Mackie MR5s with mopads under each one. But now I'm getting complaints from my neighbors ( )

So I'm assuming the vibrations from the monitors down the stand will essentially deaden once it hits that mat. As of now its all carpet and TBH I don't mix loud AT ALL. But once I start GS and boosting things the kicks start to pop out.

This I can't control, nor will I simply NOT work because my neighbors are to ********** to simply knock on my door and ask. I've already got acoustic treatment on the walls and a couple panels in the corners. I live on the 2nd floor (Its a quadruplex).

Will these mats affect the sound in anyway?

Probably not. It probably won't solve your problem, either.

This is the unfortunate situation in many places..

I would invest in beer and burgers, and invite them to the grill often. Would probably give you the best bang for your buck.

The stands could be contributing a small amount, but I wouldn't think it will solve your problem. If it is your floor that its transmitting to, it would be difficult to contain without construction. Perhaps you could move to a different room in your place? Or perhaps now would be the time to invest in good studio headphones...

Neighbors, gotta love em!

Yeaaa....If other incidents had not occured then I would be open to that idea..but not anymore. So the rubber mats would do little from sound traveling? Great...As far as another room, no. Even if I did I'd have to adjust all the acoustic treatment and would need much more.

I'd much rather not mix with headphones... For pre-production and ideas sure but for mixing no.

Great...This will seriously hinder my business if a solution isn't found. Thanks for everyones help though!

Perhaps you can find out when they are out of their home and do your work on the speakers then? Maybe talk to them and see if you can work out some kind of schedule or compromise.

It would seem that would the most reasonable solution...But that won't happen. They work "normal" hours so they sleep average times. Besides that my lease and my state statuates say its illegal to play music from 10pm to 7am, if it can be heard within 50ft of a home/apartment.

This month I'm working a show so when I get home I crash, but the rrest of the months I'd rather not wait until the weekend so that I can actually take ample time to work.
