Polycarbonate vs Glass for iso cabinet door

Maybe I'm over-thinking this but I'm in the process of building a mixing desk, part of which includes a iso cabinet for computer, ect. I was shopping for a 3/8" tempered glass window pane for the front door of the cabinet and it was suggested that polycarbonate has better sound reduction properties. Any thoughts? Also, is 3/8" overkill, not enough or just right?

The statement makes no sense as glass has twice the density of polycarbonate. For any given thickness, galss will provide approxiamtely 5 dB greater isolation than polycarbonate.

As far as suitabilty of 3/8", it depends on the isolation of the rest of cabinet. The two should match each other.

Densely,
Andre
