Advice on room treatment?

Hi all,

I'm trying to put together a nice mixing room. Of course, step 1 is treatment. Below are some sketches of my room and a picture of where my desk will be positioned. Suggestions/advice is welcome and appreciated!

View of east wall

View of rear wall

View of front wall

Listening position

Currently, I have 8 4'x2' 3" rockwool absorbers and 4 4'x2' 6" rockwool absorbers each wrapped in burlap (pictured is the 3" panel). I plan on buying more treatment solutions, given the input here. (Pictured below is the 3" rockwool panel.)

Thanks!

The 3" panels you have will work for early reflection points and the 6" panels I would straddle corners. Here are a few videos to help you out with set up and placement.

yeah you have the high frequencies covered and a good start on bass trapping with 4 of the 6" traps straddling your corners. Can you get more rockwool and put some 4" panels in wall/ceiling corners? Also, I'd make a couple more 6"ers for the rear wall....

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. My plan so far is below; however, I need to tweak it according to the measurements I do.

Rear wall: 2 3'x4' QRDs (that I have yet to make)
Rear wall step: a 2'x4'x3" panel hanging from the ceiling about 1ft out from the door (to create airspace) and 2 Auralex diffusion foam panels 2'x4' on each side of the step (mini room by the door) to eliminate flutter echo.

Front wall: The blinds will act as a natural (though non-ideal) diffusor with some bass trapping as there is space between the blinds and the glass door behind them. However, I will also place 2'x4'x3" panels (pictured above) behind the reference BM5a's (and behind the mains when I purchase them). In the front right corner, I am going to place the two 6" bass traps in the corners such that there is air behind them. One of them will have to be angled at the tri-corner to fit, but that will actually just create more desired air. I will also place 3" absorbers on the remaining walls.

The side walls will have 3 3" panels each. However, I'm thinking about placing a 2'x4' QRD on each wall as well, thus replacing one of the panels. The closet will serve as a nice bass trap as it is 2' deep.

On the ceiling, I plan on dispersing 2'x2' squares of skyline diffusors as well as placing Auralex diffusion foam above the listening position to get the early reflections.

I also plan on lining the bottom corners of the room with the 6" bass traps such that they are laid on their side propped against the wall with some ait behind them.

That's the general plan. I need to calculate the modal frequencies for further tweaking.

Any changes? Recommendations?

You have quite a bit planned, so I'd recommend implementing the stages sequentially to get intermediate measurements and to allow for time to hear how each stage changes the room. You are planning quite a bit of diffusion and might want to do more homework before plunking down that cash.
