Parallel wall treatment in CR

Hey guys.

I have parallel walls in my CR that are 16 ft 11 inches. These are the side walls to my mixing position. The room is unfinished at the moment. Any suggestions right off the bat for getting rid of the standing wave that will exist because of the parallel situation?

Thanks in advance.

O.

PS the bottom half is parallel, the top half has windows both sides with angled glass...so not parallel...

It all depends on the characteristics of the room and what you like. Absorption panels will do what you want, but they very well could deaden the room in a way you dont.

QRD diffusion panels wont deaden the room, but they have parameters to how far away from them you must be in order for the diffuse field to develop properly.

You could splay the walls, that is build partitions at an angle(s), but then you must be aware of where that energy is being redirected.

A perforated panel trap placed in the corner floor (center of a side wall) put my small mix/mastering room on another level. Much more "articulated" bass guitar and drums is what I noticed now.

I´m impressed with something: the frequency response doens´t change significantly, a null I have around 110 hz still basically the same (measured in REW), but now I can hear the 110. I´m planning more of these!
