OP: even with these products, having the monitors on the desk can induce high-gain colored early arriving indirect specular energy to the listening position. if possible, you should move the speakers onto stands many feet in front of the desk to minimize or eliminate energy reflection (and edge diffraction) from the working surface. this also includes minimizing the working surface itself, angling the surface, and/or utilizing the desk itself to block the floor reflection - all verified with the ETC.
the stands many solve one problem (coupling), but there is still another fundamental problem to be aware of when your monitors/monitor stands are sitting on the desk.
