Monitor stands on desk

Hi guys,

I've been asking about monitor stands to put on desks in the other part of the forum and a member came up with these:

Adjustable Audio Speaker Stands Best Sound Speaker Stand

Not sure what to think of these...

Is there any chance that isolation design actually works?

Yes, the isoAcoustics monitor stands are pretty cool. They provide lab testing to show energy loss. If I *had* to have my speakers on desks, they'd be on these.

They're also really effective when placed on stands

OP: even with these products, having the monitors on the desk can induce high-gain colored early arriving indirect specular energy to the listening position. if possible, you should move the speakers onto stands many feet in front of the desk to minimize or eliminate energy reflection (and edge diffraction) from the working surface. this also includes minimizing the working surface itself, angling the surface, and/or utilizing the desk itself to block the floor reflection - all verified with the ETC.

the stands many solve one problem (coupling), but there is still another fundamental problem to be aware of when your monitors/monitor stands are sitting on the desk.
