Soundprove

aw gday
I'm in the process of setting up a little studio in what used to be my bands practice shed. It's a 3m wide x 6m deep tin shed, located smack bang in the middle of a storage facility. I've finally got most of the gear I need to get started and now it's time to get onto soundproofing the room. I've thought about pink bats, polystyrene, carpet and curtains but I don't really know whats gunna be the best option. I know it's not gunna be cheap but I don't care, just want to get this ****er up and running so I can get some experience. Any help from you cats would be greatly appreciated.

"Soundproofing" means sound insulation - keeping outside sounds out and inside sounds in.

Pink bats and other "soft" materials are usually used to affect 'room acoustics' - that is, how the sound behaves in a room. Almost nothing to do with sound insulation. And expanded polystyrene is almost useless for acoustic purposes - it provides minimal sound insulation and no sound absorption.

Are you trying to keep sound inside the room, or trying to make it sound better in there?

If you're trying to keep sound in/out, then go for drywall on a separate framing system.
