Man Door - Effective?

I'm just finishing a garage conversion. Room is 2 leaf, acoustic sealed, Green Glue between drywall layers, etc. Now for the doors. Project is over budget already, so was looking for non-professional options, which is proving to be pretty challenging. A friend of mine works for an industrial equipment company and says he can get me a "man door" with sound deadening for a good price. I had been looking at solid wood with a seal kit (something from Zero most likely), but was wondering if anyone had experience with Man Doors? Effective? Not effective?

I looked into this a bit more and the installation, etc. was going to be a hassle. Ended up ordering / installing two sets of pre-hung exterior doors for both the outside entrance as well as the entrance from the remaining garage. Worked out quite well. Thanks for looking at this though.

I think he may have meant "Mann" as in Mann Windows - Windows, Doors, Conservatories and special projects undertaken
