The reason why a lot of us don't like to suggest use of products like this is because there is no testing to back it up. They say its great for first reflection points, etc, how the hell can you even judge what its best for if they aren't tested? Show us the coefficients!

what are you looking for in terms of room control? while Auralex is a reputable company, their products might not be the correct ones for your needs.

I mounted (4) Sonolite panels in a window frame in front of the mix position to absorb high frequency reflections I found during room testing. For this purpose, it worked really well as I did not have the space for larger panel traps in the window frame. The rest of the room is treated with GIK panels.

I personally wouldn't use the Sonolites for first point reflection (and most certainly not bass traps) since they will only absorb upper mids and high frequencies. Broadband absorbers such as the GIK 242 & 244 is a much better bang for the buck.

There is no product called "Sonolite" in that PDF.

50mm of acoustic foam will probably only absorb mid- and high-frequencies effectively. Probably not suitable for a 1st reflection point but good for flutter echo.
