Criticize my setup!!

[ Already posted this but the photos were not very clear so I made new ones. ]

So I just completed all my DIY treatment and I will like to know what people here think about.

Things I couldnt do:

- Left wall: I have a window so i couldnt install a bass trap on the top corner
- Rear right corner: As you see I have a door and the heat installation so it was impossible to trap that area.

The boxes: So I had lots of spare insulation and decided to fill cardboard boxes and cover them with fabric. In the beginning I put them on the bookshelves but then moved them to trap as many corner (I learnt this is the most vital part) from the walls as possible (you can see in the pic). They are 3 inch thick.

My room is almost a square one: L= 3,65 mt W= 3,57 mt H= 2,78mt

It looks like you have the general areas covered but I would think a lot more bass trapping will be needed. You can always test the room with the following program to see where you are at now.

Thanks Glenn. This is the next step I'm going to take.

In the meanwhile, I still have more insulation left, so I was thinking to build more superchunk style bass traps (like I have on the corners) and place them on the floor, in the front and side walls.

Do you think is a good idea?
Do you think the cardboard boxes I have right now are helping at all?

The only way to say is by testing the room. Does the room sound better now?

I suppose they are acting as bass traps (reflecting some highs). As Glenn said, the only way to know is to test.

To be honest, if I take out the cardboard boxes I can't hear no difference at all. But I try to follow the mantra of "bass trapping as much corner as possible", this is why I placed them there. I guess if I put superchunk right there it will be another story.

It could be that either they are to small or just not enough to make a huge difference.
