Inputs about new studio Layout.

Hello! I am rebuilding my studio and want to make it acousticly good and nice this time.

I have attached 2 pictures of how i am planning to "arrange" it all.

I would love to have it like this:

My question is if this is a good idea. To build the vocalboth as a "center-piece" of the studio behind the mixspot.

The absorbent wall in front of mix spot will be about 60cm deep for trapping bass.

Or should i go for this (more classic) layout? http://i41.tinypic.com/f44nr6.jpg

all the best!

If you must have a vocal booth, I'd put it all the way in the back of the room, near the center left-right. That will help to break up the damaging reflections at low frequencies from that rear wall. Also see this:

Do I really need a vocal booth?
