Cheap Fabric Alternative Found - Look in.

After searching but to no avail to find cheap fabric for acoustic panels / bass traps / walls etc being quoted loads of money etc I've finally found a VERY cheap solution.

I pulled an old bed sheet out the airing cupboard and thought this is quite breathable, so took it outside to see and it's very breathable and see through. It's perfect for building up bass traps and the like and you can double layer it if needed, but the main thing is bed sheets are very cheap so I'm going to order a load of bed sheets and save allot of money doing acoustic related panel's / walls with this cheap alternative.

I've put the bed sheet up on the window to give it a proper good examination and if anything this is a bit to thin so depending on what material is being used for the bed sheet to cover, for example if rockwool double/triple layer maybe needed, but some bed sheets are thicker.

Quite an old bed sheet though so it's not really in good condition and it quite stretched / out of shape / uneven and there is more light coming through than the phone camera picture shows.

Just a tip for anyone looking for a cheap fabric alternative.

I don't think bedsheets are the cheapest fabric available. In holland we have a product that freely translates as "cheesecloth"???. Its a reasonably open linnen only made in one ecru colour. I've paid € 3,10 the running meter and the roll is 3 meters wide, sidenote: I bought 150 meters of it, so...... price could go a bit up if you order less.
