Help with treating my rehersal/live room.

Hello everyone. I just moved into our new room, not the greatest, but its all I have to work with for a while so id like to get the best sound out of it.

Primarily it will be used for practice for our band, but we will also want to use this space for recording. Not the full band at once, but lay down drums, then setup for bass and so on.

Dimensions. H=92", W=124", L=175".

Two of the corners are somewhat blocked. One from the door to get into the room, the other by a closet door and baseboard heater. The other two corners are open, and I was planning to make superchunks with a 24" face for them. If its in the budget, id like to do 17"x17" soffit bass traps instead.

I also plan to add a cloud above the drums, most likely 4'x4'x4" with an air gap of a few inches.

My main question is this. What would be a good material for the corner traps and clouds? My first thought was to pick up some Roxul rockboard 40 (64kg/m3), but ive read good things about Roxul safe n sound (40kg/m3). Perhaps other batts/rolls would work better?

I have right now, 15 2'x4'x2" panels of rockboard 60. I plan to use some of them to tame flutter echo in the room, and some extras for any reinforcements needed while recording.

My goal is to have the room be controlled, but not turn muddy and lifeless by absorbing all the highend. Wish I could do something about the carpet, but I really cant, so plywood under the drumset might be the best I can do to keep some life in them.

Does this sound like a good starting point?
