Basstraps vs acoustic panel + rockwool vs fiberglass DIY

I've been searching around the net but can't find what is better when making your own acoustic panels? Rockwool seems to be healthier to work with but since fiberglass is more expensive were I live I thought maybe it have better absorption ? Or are they the same?

Then I also want to know what is the difference between acoustic panels like this:

and basstraps?

I know that they are pretty much the same thing but do I just put extra rockwool into my DIY panels and but them in the corner instead of the other panels which will go on the wall or should they have the exact same amount of rockwool as the other panels?

how do I know how many basstraps I will need? in a square small room, will more basstraps ? flatter bass response? is it that simple?

If you want to tame lower frequencies I`d think rockwool is better!

As far as broad band bass traps they need to be 4" thick (OC I would use 3 pound or 6 pound and for rockwool I would use around 6 pound) and straddle corners.

Even panels for the side walls for places like early reflection points I would make them 4" thick.

The more bass traps you put in a room the better the response and in a square room you will need more as the beginning response will be much worse. You can use the following as a layout for placement.
