Please help me with the graphs

Looks like the typical room that needs bass traps. Did you move around to find the best spot or is that the only place you can sit? It might be the best you can get, but just asking. See the following for layout of treatment.

Thats the only place where I can sit, my room is quite strange shaped, I will describe everything in another thread.. I have finished today 10 panels made with Rockwool RW3 60kg/m3 I'm gonna post photos when I'm done with installation

I would keep it on this thread and post the results. Be sure to make sure the mic is in the same spot as moving it just a few inches will change things.

Full range Frequency Response graphs will be crazy at HF due to comb filtering.
Measure each speaker separately.
Waterfalls are most interesting viewed at LF, say 30-300Hz.

Hey guys!

I have done my treatment some time ago, and today I had first chance to measure my room again..

thats a photo of the placement of my traps:

one behind the monitors, corners, bottom corners below the desks, sides and two top..

I used two layers of Rockwool R3 60kg/m3 on every trap.



thats the two measurements together:
blue is the old one and golden the new one




I can't see a big difference in these two graphs..

have I done something wrong?
I still want to treat the other corners of the room but for now I have to stay with this treatment.


I have one spare trap right now which mean to be on the ceiling and I was moving it around the other corners and it was helping a bit on the cut around 80 and 160..

any ideas how could I improve the acoustic of my room?

Measurement and analysis take a bit of learning. General views don't show the details. You have to focus on particular areas of interest and interrogate the graphs. For instance, did your 50Hz mode get shorter?
It takes an awful lot to make a Freq Resp graph change.
Try the Waterfalls before and after. One speaker only.
The trap behind your speakers is not likely to be doing anything. I would place that in a corner and also the spare one.

I still can't get my head around the REW, i've spend some time reading and trying to understand all graphs etc. but is not as easy as I thought..

I don't really get what 50Hz mode is and I can't get my waterfalls to "finish", I don;t really know which time rage should I use to see all the waterfall, whatever I'm trying to do is not showing me full view..

all my mesurements were done with a single speaker.

so are you saying my trap behind the monitors is not doing anything? Even if there's a window just behind them? If that's right I will have two spare traps to use, could I place them some distance behind my seat? would that do anything?
I would really have to buy some more rockwool and build more corner traps for the rest of the room, because the spare ones are to big to go to the corner..

There's a huge difference in the room, I could hear immediately the difference, even the sub of my pc speakers is sounding quite good, the sound is really nice and focus..

thats both readings in range 30-300Hz without smoothing ( golden is the new one)

Glad to hear it is sounding better.
The long ridges in the Waterfall are modes. I should have said 40Hz ish.
REW takes a while, but it is not essential in any case.
I would leave it, read some of the room treatment and setup articles at RealTraps and GIK.
I would place the spare traps in corners, that's where the action is.
It is very likely the trap behind your monitors is doing little or nothing.
Think about it, what could it be doing?

I was just thinking that the HF could bounce off the window because of the reflectivity of the glass..

well..I will just re build the spare traps and I will make more corner traps..
I would really need a separate room, because for now I'm working in a part of my living room..but there is no chance for my own sparate room for now so i have to use what I've got..

Cheers. HF doesn't really travel around from the front of the speaker.
However if the back wall is reflective there could be a flutter echo between the window and it. But your venetian blind probably interrupts it.
Handclaps are really good at setting off flutter echo. Clap, walk about and turn around.

You are getting some great advise from Dan Dan. One thing to add is if you are getting flutter from the front then to test it, sit in the mix spot and have a friend clap over top of the monitor. If you can hear flutter echo then treat it. If not then do not worry about it. What you might hear clapping at your mix spot is not what you might be getting from the monitors. That is the reason for the friend to clap from that area.
BTW if you would like post your REW file and I can fix it to view better.

I've just done some more measurments:

I think they can be intresting..

First two measurements are with the window panel and whitout,
then I'm using the two spear panels to move them around the other 3 corners of the room.
Two last readings are without the bottom left trap close to the desk and either all the corners have a trap or the last reading is for the 2 corners behind me and a place behind where there's a lot of fluttering..I can't hear the flutter on my working position but there's a place in the room where it is very prominent.

I know that might be a bit confusing so I'm attaching some photos..

I'm not sure if that makes any sense e..
I hope you will be able to read something from that..
