Thread Starter | Studio Space Near a Power Station?
Hi GS, I've found location that seems to fit my needs well. As this will be my first go at establishing a studio outside of my home and bridging the gap between amateur and professional musicianship, I'm not in a position to demand that everything about the space be perfectly suited for my purpose (the commercial spaces in my area are also near train tracks!), so I'm weighing the pro's (cheap, large, etc.) against the con's. Does anyone have experience with recording music in a building in very close proximity to (what appears to me to be) a major power station? Am I looking at a potential deal breaker because of interference/static/ or something else? Thanks, and happy holidays everyone!

If you are near any strong electromagnetic fields, you WILL need to pay close attention to your wiring scheme and grounding details. Power stations, broadcast antennas, etc. For more info, you can read my paper about grounding, wiring, and zero loop area found on my publications page. Cheers, John |
